The 2013 New Mexico Passenger Transportation Association (NMPTA) Annual Conference and Expo State Road-e-o was held April 14 at Buffalo Thunder Resort and RTD drivers and staff were there to take part in the friendly competition. The event featured transit drivers from all over the State who faced off against each other in road and passenger safety skills. They were tested on such things as driving, wheelchair securement and pre-trip vehicle inspection. On hand to represent the NCRTD were some if our most skilled drivers including from left to right: Nick Molina, Jose Palomares, Jonathan Valencia and Angela Rios. A group that made us all proud!

2012 NCRTD HOLIDAY GIVING TREE TO SUPPORT THE
CHILDREN OF CYFD
This year the North Central Regional Transit District hosted a Holiday Giving Tree in its Jim West Regional Transit Center headquarters to benefit the foster children of Rio Arriba and Los Alamos Counties through the EspaƱola Center for the New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department (CYFD). Drivers and administration were quick to snap up gift tags for recipients and before long the tree was surrounded by brightly wrapped gifts.
Representatives from CYFD joined RTD drivers and staff by the tree (above photo) as they came by the RTD headquarters to collect presents that were being dispersed to the kids at their holiday party held on December 13. The New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department provides an array of prevention, intervention, rehabilitative and after-care services to New Mexico children and their families. Additionally, the CYFD partners with communities to strengthen families in New Mexico to be productive and self-sufficient.
