A Year of Moving Our Community Forward
2025 was a year of growth, connection, and progress for the Blue Bus. From improving how we serve our riders to investing in our team and facilities, every step we took was guided by one goal: supporting our communities. As we look back, we’re proud of what we accomplished together, and we’re grateful for everyone who rode along with us.
Keeping Our Communities Connected
At the heart of everything we do is about connections. Throughout 2025, the Blue Bus continued to provide fare-free transportation that helped riders get to work, school, medical appointments and daily errands. Service improvements and adjustments as well as new routes and on-demand service were made with rider needs in mind, helping ensure communities across north central New Mexico stayed connected to the places and opportunities that matter most.
A great achievement accomplished in 2025 was the launch of our Veterans and Active-Duty Ride MyBlue™ Free Program which provides free rides on our on-demand Rideshare service MyBlue™ to active-duty military members and veterans.
Reliable public transit means access, independence and peace of mind. This year, we remained focused on making sure our service reflected that responsibility.
Investing in Reliable, Sustainable Service
Behind every trip is planning, maintenance and behind-the-scenes work. In 2025, we made important investments in our operations to support safe, dependable service. From the grand opening of our Taos Operations and Maintenance Facility and our new facility in Santa Fe to the deployment of our Hybrid Diesel Electric buses, these efforts helped strengthen the foundation of the Blue Bus system and support long-term service for our riders.
While much of this work happens out of sight, it plays a critical role in ensuring buses and MyBlue™ vehicles are ready to serve our communities every day.
Showing Up for Our Riders and Communities
Throughout the year, the Blue Bus participated in local events, outreach efforts and partnerships designed to better connect with riders and share information about our services. Listening to feedback and engaging directly with the communities we serve continued to shape how we move forward.
This year we participated in the Española and Santa Fe Farmers Markets, the Edgewood Carnival, the Rio Grande Sky Fiesta, Edgewood Woofstock, Pancakes on the Plaza, Trunk or treats in Española, Taos and Santa Clara, the Edgewood Stuff a Bus, Village of Taos Ski Valley Community Day and Light parades in Española and Edgewood. These moments of connection help us better understand rider needs and ensure our service reflects the communities we serve.
Celebrating the People Behind the Wheel
None of this would be possible without our dedicated team members who keep the Blue Bus moving. In 2025, we welcomed our new executive director, Nicholas A. Sofoul, AICP and celebrated the operators, fleet and facilities crew, dispatchers and administrative teams whose hard work and commitment make a difference every day. Their dedication to safety, service and community is the driving force behind every successful trip.
We are proud to support a team that shows up with care, professionalism and pride in the work they do.
Looking Ahead
As we move into a new year, our mission remains the same: to provide safe, reliable fare-free transit that supports the daily lives of our riders and supports our communities. The accomplishments of 2025 have laid a strong foundation, and we look forward to our continued growth in the year ahead.
Thank you to our riders, community and team members for being part of this journey. We’re excited to keep moving our community forward together.
