Each year on Good Friday, thousands participate in the pilgrimage to the historic Santuario de Chimayó. To support pilgrims and visitors, the Blue Bus provides special and regular service options that connect regional communities with Chimayó for this meaningful tradition.

Transit Options for Good Friday
Below is a helpful overview of the bus services you can use to travel in Chimayó on Good Friday. Both options provide fare-free service for pilgrims, but they serve different areas and offer flexibility depending on where you’re coming from.
150 Chimayó Route
- Connects Española Transit Center with the Bennie J. Chavez Community Center in Chimayó and stops along NM-76
- Runs on its regular schedule Monday-Friday
- Best for those returning to Española or Las Trampas
- Note: Bus stop 71 at El Santuario de Chimayó will be temporarily closed on Good Friday due to pilgrimage traffic. Regular service resumes the following Monday
151 Santuario Express Route (Special Service)

Provides express service between Chimayó and Pojoaque (Cities of Gold Park & Ride)

Runs on Good Friday only during defined service hours

Best for those returning to Pojoaque

Expect a short walk (~0.5 mile) from the Santuario to the pick-up location
