March 18 is National Transit Employee Appreciation Day, so we’re gearing up to spread the love to all our team members that keep the Blue Bus and our communities moving!
This is a special day to recognize the dedicated Blue Bus team members who make fare-free transit possible for our communities. Each member of our team plays a crucial role in our system. From our drivers and dispatchers to our fleet and facilities crew and office staff, they all work together to help you get to the people, places and things that matter.
What is Transit Employee Appreciation Day?
National Transit Employee Appreciation Day is an annual event on March 18 to recognize the transit employees around the nation who keep riders moving, informed and safe. This day recognizes the hands-on work to keep buses, vans and trains running and safe for our riders and our operators. It honors the people who keep our vehicles, bus stops and stations clean. And it acknowledges those who work behind the scenes, those who keep riders informed, those who plan service enhancements and many, many more.
Our Blue Bus Team
It takes a hardworking and passionate team to keep the Blue Bus moving, and every department plays a vital role in serving our communities.
Our drivers navigate the roads, our operations team support our drivers and overall service, and our Customer Service Representatives help our riders book rides, plan their trips and provide them with helpful information.
Behind the scenes, our Fleet and Facilities team keep our buildings, bus stops, MyBlue™ vans and buses clean, safe and operational.
The administrative team, our Finance, Marketing, Planning, Legal and Human Resources departments work together to ensure the Blue Bus continues to provide a reliable, fare free service.
Though we each have different responsibilities, we are all working toward the same goal: connecting people to the places they need to go. Whether it’s ensuring a bus is on time, maintaining vehicles, assisting riders or planning future routes, every team member contributes to making public transit possible.
Together, we’re more than just a transit system – we’re a community, and this month, we celebrate the people who make it all happen!
